My child is

 On the radio I heard someone talking about how his son came to him and said he was a pirate so dad had his eye removed, his had replaced with a hook and his leg replaced with a peg. Satire. But not funny. Then someone called in to this radio program and said how a kid in his childs school identified as a cat and there was a liter box for him. I have heard this before but I don't believe it.

Now when I was little and wanted to be a cat my mom said ok go be a cat and meowed with me. The same with my kids when they wanted to pretend they were a teacher or a lion we played pretend. 

But now we have idiot parents who apparently never used their imaginations and are jumping on the bandwagon and encouraging their children to actually change to something they are not. What is wrong with people. And it is not the kids who think they are something else that should be blamed it is the idiot parents and morons in society who say 'well sure, that's cut some body parts off here and add some there'

Lent challenge

 I am always joking about what I am giving up for Lent but never do. I mean what kind of sacrifice is it to give up coffee. But this year, on Ash Wed. in fact, I decided I would challenge myself to give up saying all the snarky things I say to and about other people. If I could do that it would be something. On Sunday the priest said Lent is not about giving up something but about getting back on track and getting to where you want to go. And so, this is the perfect challenge for me. FYI, I have failed multiple times already. 40 days is just way to long to be good.

In the news

 I heard a news story about a school that was not allowing students to participate in year end activities if all their fees had not been paid. This is not an unusual stance, I've heard it before. It is not right that the children are punished for something they have no control over and the fees still won't be paid/ But, what struck me the most is a parent who said 'this is just showing them that if they don't have money they don't get things'. Um duh. If you don't work and earn money and save for things you want you don't get them. And you shouldn't. What happened to the Americans who worked and expected nothing from anyone. Where did all those people go?
