Done

Yesterday we signed on the house. Probably took 6 or 7 weeks from the time our offer was
accepted to close. On Monday we were supposed to go to the house for a final walk thru but there
was some kind of accident on the freeway so it took us an hour and a half to get one exit down the freeway. The agent went and did the walk thru and says everything is done. He couldn't go to the signing yesterday so I have not talked to him. Now the seller has one week to move.
I am hoping we will be able to move all in one weekend then clean and finish at this place the next.
That means people have to really get motivated to get as much done as we can in the next week.

Homeschooling: Hank has refused to cooperate. I told him he would have to go to public school once
we moved if he didn't show me he was serious about doing school at home. He did do quite a bit of stuff and is almost caught up so we will continue to home school and hope for the best.

And Chelsie got a call for an interview so I hope this works out for her.

Lent challenge

 I am always joking about what I am giving up for Lent but never do. I mean what kind of sacrifice is it to give up coffee. But this year, on Ash Wed. in fact, I decided I would challenge myself to give up saying all the snarky things I say to and about other people. If I could do that it would be something. On Sunday the priest said Lent is not about giving up something but about getting back on track and getting to where you want to go. And so, this is the perfect challenge for me. FYI, I have failed multiple times already. 40 days is just way to long to be good.

In the news

 I heard a news story about a school that was not allowing students to participate in year end activities if all their fees had not been paid. This is not an unusual stance, I've heard it before. It is not right that the children are punished for something they have no control over and the fees still won't be paid/ But, what struck me the most is a parent who said 'this is just showing them that if they don't have money they don't get things'. Um duh. If you don't work and earn money and save for things you want you don't get them. And you shouldn't. What happened to the Americans who worked and expected nothing from anyone. Where did all those people go?
