More Socks

Have finished the Thuja socks.  He says he won't wear them because of the pattern on them.  It's ok I'll wear them.  Have started the Basic Brioche Stitch Socks form the Knitting Brioche Stitch Socks book.  Have taken it apart 3 times.  Got about an inch in and did something and couldn't recover the stitches.
C and H dyed yarn we bought at JoAnnes and Micheals.  Used the dye they have used for tye dyeing t shirts.
Have not done school with Hank for a couple days.  Working on the continents.  Should start the paper mache globe, maybe tom.  I need to do some yard work and the taxes first.  Hopefully, I will be motivated to get things done.

Lent challenge

 I am always joking about what I am giving up for Lent but never do. I mean what kind of sacrifice is it to give up coffee. But this year, on Ash Wed. in fact, I decided I would challenge myself to give up saying all the snarky things I say to and about other people. If I could do that it would be something. On Sunday the priest said Lent is not about giving up something but about getting back on track and getting to where you want to go. And so, this is the perfect challenge for me. FYI, I have failed multiple times already. 40 days is just way to long to be good.

In the news

 I heard a news story about a school that was not allowing students to participate in year end activities if all their fees had not been paid. This is not an unusual stance, I've heard it before. It is not right that the children are punished for something they have no control over and the fees still won't be paid/ But, what struck me the most is a parent who said 'this is just showing them that if they don't have money they don't get things'. Um duh. If you don't work and earn money and save for things you want you don't get them. And you shouldn't. What happened to the Americans who worked and expected nothing from anyone. Where did all those people go?
